Scales, which one is worth its weight in powder

Very nice set up, I just pulled the trigger on my Dandy trickler. All I need to do now is order a A&D scale. Who is the best retailer to purchase from?

I bought mine through Ingenuity Precision but I’ve there are a bunch of folks that purchase from Amazon.

Has anyone purchased from CE Products? Are they a reputable company and customer service friendly. Looking to purchase the A&D FX-120i from them. They have the best price I’ve seen so far.

I’ve bought from CE. In fact I believe they programmed it as well. It’s the best purchase I’ve made. I put mine on top of a granite slab and I haven’t looked back.

I’m currently using the T3 dropper and ingenuity precision trickler and electronics. It’s faster than I can load.

I just tried attaching a short video from my IPhone but I guess it’s not compatible.

I think if memory serves I bought my A&D from CE. It was the lowest price I could find for that model.

I pulled the trigger on the scale this morning but I haven’t been able to talk to anyone there about the programming of the scale.

RCBS Chargemaster Lite to trickle and A&D FX120i from CE for final weigh in. I’m not a volume loader so no need for me to get elaborate when trickling powder.

I load for my rifle and have been using the same beam scale (RCBS) that came in my very first reloading kit. I assumed it wasn’t accurate enough for my loading needs and so I went through several electronic scales. None of then lasted very long and would not hold zero. I went back to the beam scale and have checked the accuracy with a very expensive scale at one of my friends work place. It is consistently within a couple tenths of a grain accurate. To date the scale has measured close to 14,000 rounds without missing a beat. I keep it clean and covered and check it with weights. Expensive is not always better.

I started out with the RCBS Charge Master and a Dandy Trickler . Had very good results but slow . I loaded 1 tenth under and trickled up . I had to wait to the count of 5 when I was getting close to target weight for the scale to register or it would over throw . But it was producing good ES,SDs . Then I went to a V4 Auto trickler with A&D FX 120i scale . Much faster if you set up properly . I did check my Charge master dandy set up with this scale , 10 out of 10 loads were dead on ? really couldn’t believe it . But I sold the CM/Dandy and stayed with the V4 . The V4 is a 2 tube set up and can be tricky to set up so it doesn’t overthrow . My suggestion is if you shooting short range where ES/SD doesn’t matter as much as long range , Charge Master will be fine . Shooting more precision longe range , opt for a scale that measures to .02 and picks up and drops one grain of powder at a time like the ingenuity precision . It will be super fast , precise , and easier to set up . Buy once cry once . If you are wealthy , The Prometheus is one top of line that world champions use . It’s quite the set up and uses a beam scale which a lot of people swear is better than electronics due to Temp/ humidity/and other interference ? I load 1500 rounds a year and I’m in the single digits ES/SDs with my set up . I shoot and hunt long range .

I bought a V3 auto trickler and the A&D FX120I scale and have never looked back, I load .223, 243, 6.5CM, 7mm Rem Mag, and 300 Norma and apart from not liking the large Kernels of Viht 570 it hasn’t missed a beat and is very easy to use via the app, I wouldn’t consider loading without one, mainly because of the time saving, incredible accuracy and repeatability

I still use my 50 year old Ohaus 10-10 scale to double check my 20 year old RCBS Chargemaster.

Use the same and highly recommend the A&D FX-120i with the Auto Trickler v4. I shoot F-Class and Hunter matches. ES / SD matters. Consistent load and accuracy imperative in these competitions. Agreed, not inexpensive, but purpose driven.

Today must be Xmas, my 120i will be here today. Plus it snowed yesterday

Well guys, it finally arrived. Can someone tell me if there are any little tricks I should know about before I start using it.

The video explains how to calibrate the FX120i. I calibrate mine often, it’s never been off by much.

Tolly thanks for the video, it really helped.

:+1: I’m glad it was helpful!

I started reloading a little over a year ago and at that time I started with the Rcbs link then about five months ago I upgraded to the match master. It’s a lot faster but I’m wanting something that’s even more precise but yet easy to use. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I purchased from CE, cheaper price

Patrick, cry a little harder and get the A&D 120i, don’t mess with TRX 925
