I saw Prolix is coming out with a dry lubricant. Says it improved accuracy. I’ve heard Speedy Gonzales uses Lock Ease dry lube in his bores after bore cleaning. Says it helps accuracy. Anyone use this final process while cleaning their barrels?
i use lock ease since he does. i don’t feel it makes more accuracy as much as it helps with the first couple shots fired. i clean to bare steel after every outing. using the lock ease i only need one fouler and she is ready. even the one fouler is usually only about .25 to .5 from the group. try it for yourself and see. after cleaning i run a loose wet patch of it through the barrel and let sit a couple minutes then run a second. make sure you clean and dry you chamber after. don’t know anything about prolix. never heard of it.
I use Lock ease on triggers. I will try it on the bore as you do. If not shooting your rifle for a month or two, will the Lock Ease protect the bore, Like light oil?

I use Lock Ease . Most Benchrest guys use it to cut down on foulers . For me , I long range hunt and I need that cold bore shot as close as possible to my ES and SD . It helps for sure , not perfect but way better than nothing . After I clean I run a soaked patch of L.E. making short strokes especially around throat out to 10” in barrel back and forth all the way down the barrel . Then wait till it dries couple hours to make sure . I wipe out chamber neck and muzzle end with dry patch and q tip . I log my cold bore speed and track cold bore shots on a target at 100 yards to make sure I know where cold bore hits on various temps on different days . I clean my gun after it’s shot 1 or 30 times . I don’t shoot foulers before I hunt . I don’t use abrasives every time I clean . after 30 shots , I use abrasives . It takes 2 shots after abrasive cleaning with lock ease to bring it back . Then 28 more shots only using brush , patches , Patch out and lock ease whenever I shoot . Barrel stays Healthy with bore guide and bore scope . Good luck on new lube !
