What is the height of the insert sear?
Hopefully this can provide clarity on your question and the purpose of this trigger, as this is a common trigger we get questions on.
This trigger is designed to be used with factory Remington 700 actions, not clones. The Remington 700 action is known to have a significant amount of “cock-on-close.” The sear insert is designed to address this by positioning the sear engagement point of the trigger’s top sear approximately 1 mm farther forward. This helps minimize or mitigate the cock-on-close condition commonly associated with the Remington 700 action.
Importantly, the height of the sear insert is identical to the standard sear(3.8mm). The difference is in the timing and positioning of the sear engagement, not its overall height.

Thank you for your response stating the height of the sear and the purpose of the insert. I understand the purpose of the insert. I ask the height question since it is not published in the catalog. Follow up question since the the two insert sears in the catalog do not specify there height I am at a loss which one to order for a height of 4mm.
