Chassis choice mpa or MDT

I need experienced opinions on what chassis is a better fit for my needs

What discipline are you planning to shoot?

Some 600 yard bench rest and F Class for sure .

Adjustability and weight are the most important considerations for F-Class.

Both the MDT and the MPA, in their top of the line models weight essentially the same before adding barreled actions, scopes, etc., so it’s a wash for weight,

They both are quite adjustable and accessory friendly, with many vendors adding to what each company produces themselves.

The forend length is different with MDT advertizing a 19” long forend, and MPA stating theirs is 14”. MPA, though, has an accessory extension that can be added to the length of their forend.

Also, each has a built-in ARCA rail which can be used to add a device to widen the forend for either benchrest or F-Class.

It will come down to personal choice between the two companies . . .

Both are quite similar so it is personal choice. I prefer MPA but primarily for cosmetic reasons. I epoxy bed them and it always improves precision.. Manufacturers say not to bed or it will void your warranty. I’ve never needed a warranty on a chassis but I always need precision so I always do it. I find the V-Block they use allows too much torque distortion so I never get consistent shot-to-shot performance with them. You will not see any chassis on the line in 600 or 1000 yard bench rest or F-Class competition. That is because traditional stocks are more comfortable to shoot prone or off a bench and provide for less shooter interference in the shot. Note that those competitions do not allow magazine loading or a muzzle device.

I have been using a MDT ACC Premier Chassis- version 1- for 2 years now while competing in F Class Open. I love the adjustability and being left handed, was one of very few choices in the time frame that I needed.

I love my MPA 6mm Creedmoor. Its a great rifle and loves the 105 Hybrid Targets.
